What Concealed Steel Lintel/Shelf Angle Weep System does:
- forms the bottom side of the bed joint of mortar and the front nose of the bed joint of mortar
- creates a weep system when a lip brick set in a bed joint of mortar is used in the first course to conceal a steel lintel or shelf angle
How to install Concealed Steel Lintel/Shelf Angle Weep System*
- Place steel lintel/shelf angle custom weep on flashing with 3/8” leg protruding downward off the exterior edge of the steel lintel/shelf angle and appropriate drip plate edge
- Back edge of steel lintel/shelf angle custom weep system [CLW 9040] should be approximately ¼” from the vertical face of the steel lintel/shelf angle and vertical surface of flashing.
- Spread bed joint of mortar and install the lip brick units on first course

Concealed Steel Lintel/Shelf Angle Weep System Specifications
0.024" (0.6 mm) thick high-impact polystyrene strip formed with 3/16" (4.8 mm) deep corrugations, bent into L-shape, 9" (229 mm), or less, wide by 5" (127 mm), or less, high. This system forms the bottom of the bed joint of mortar and the front nose of the bed joint of mortar to create a weep system when a lip brick is used in the first course to conceal a steel lintel or shelf angle.
